Strategic Communications Advisor

Working in this innovative strategic communications team, it will be your role to analyse, research and provide strategic advice on high profile issues. With a strong emphasis on Media Management, you will be responsible for strategic and communications planning as well as managing relationships with key internal stakeholders, dealing with sensitive issues and providing strategic guidance.

Key Accountabilities:    Analysing, researching and preparing comprehensive issues strategies. Liaising with other business units to understand and advise on potential areas of risk. Advising, mentoring and supporting staff in understanding potential risks and the benefits of good crisis management. Identifying issues and developing communications strategies for key publications and projects. Regular meetings with the Executive team to liaise and provide strategic advice on upcoming issues. Ensuring early advice to the Director and Executive Directors.

Key Selection Criteria:    Demonstrated knowledge of State Government communications. Excellent writing skills. Ability to negotiate firmly but tactfully in complex situations. Ability to set a clear strategic direction. Excellent stakeholder management skills. A formal qualification in Public Relations is desirable.
